Viva Las Vegas
We are off to see the the wonders of 'sin city' (or 'Las Vegas' for those fundementalist Christians out there). What joys could possibly await us in such a glorious place? We can't hardly wait for the jingle jangle of slot machines as retired go-go dancers hit it big; the creeped out feeling you get as a transvestite hooker asks to blow you under the bright lights of the strip for ten dollars;the sweet look on a hobo child's face as you tell them, "Quit asking for money! There are starving children in Africa!", when they ask you for change on your way to the next bar; the sweet beer-like perfume of a drunk's vomit as you step over him to get inside Denny's for a late-night breakfast. So many sites to see and we only have a week to see them. Plan, plan, plan until the big day. Until then we can only dream what the desert has in store for us.

The Totally Awesome Minivan Camper
Here are some pictures of our minivan camper. It's a 1990 Plymouth Voyager so there's not much head room, but I think we will be good to go as far as the basics are concerned. Sorry there aren't more, but maybe someone will get some ideas. It's not quite finished yet, but I will post more pics as they come.
The bed was the hardest piece of the puzzle, but I think it came out alright.
The undersized and over-efficient plastic sink... with a cover!
And of course the almost finished final product.... pretty snazzy.
The Open Road Persuasion
The open road has always drawn us in with it's ideas of freedom and new experiences. Being able to wake up in the morning with a view of the ocean from your windshield while you sip on a cup of coffee that seems to warm up the world with it's bitter blackness. Or to let the sun drift away behind the horizon as you watch God paint the sky of the open desert with colors of impossible saturation. The soul thrives on these experiences and for some reason or another we, as modern peoples, choose to suffocate ourselves with 9 to 5 jobs we think take care of us instead of trying to actively live our dreams, but money is truly only the illusion of happiness and security. Why wait until old age to get out and see what the world around you has to offer? Having a million stories to tell your children would be of more benefit to their growth as human beings than having a million dollars to give them. How many of us will actually ever make that million dollars anyway? So get out, live life and inspire others to do the same; new adventure is calling!
